Dinosaurs and drawings

The 24 dinosaur pages, stories and facts work offline. Crayon drawings, approved toy coloring pages and their stories stay in the app’s sketchbook on your device. Dino Dots has no ads, tracking, analytics SDK, microphone recording or sound playback.

Toy photos are optional

A grown-up must unlock the toy activity, choose a picture and approve each upload. Photograph only a toy against a plain background. Do not include children, other people, hands, names, addresses, documents or private details. On-device checks look for faces and people, but cannot guarantee detection. The grown-up’s preview is essential. Location and source metadata are removed before upload.

How a toy becomes a page

The approved picture travels over HTTPS to Leap Tech’s service on Hetzner in the United States, then to OpenAI to make line art and a make-believe story. Our service processes images in memory and does not save original photos or generated content. OpenAI may retain API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, with exceptions described in its policy. API content is not used to train OpenAI models by default. This beta does not use Zero Data Retention.

Read OpenAI’s API data controls. A grown-up reviews the generated page and story before the child colors them. AI can make mistakes; stories are imaginary.

Family connection and limits

For the private beta, a one-use family code creates a random device credential stored in the device Keychain. Our server keeps only its hash, an expiry, a used-code hash, and request identifiers and times needed to enforce usage limits. It does not ask for a child’s name, email or account. Device credentials expire after 90 days. Request counters are cleared after the month ends, with a one-day overlap. Expired device records are removed during subsequent requests.
